Thanks for all the maps if Playa Del Carmen. This is really helpful material.
This guide answer a lot of question great work. Do you have a app to access this on your phone. I would like to use it at time when I am in Playa del Carmen. I am also a person looking for long term rental 6 month a year. I live in Brazil with my girlfriend I am on tourist visa in Brazil. We have to leave for 6 month each year. I do have a question to renew the visa in Mexico what is the easy way and how long do you have to stay out of the country. Suggestion would be great if you setup a referral network for long term rentals. I am part owner in the Mattress store.
Hello Gary
The law only states you need to leave Mexico before your 180 days are up or what every they stamped on your passport. Many will leave for a few days and enter again to Mexico and receive another 180 days. However it is up to the immigration to how many days they give you. Right now the law does not state you need to be out of Mexico for 6 months.
We would like to do an app and that is a good idea.
When we find a good long term rental company we will certainly tell you about them.

Great site! thanks! Im thinking of renting in Zazil-ha a few weeks, can you tell me more about this neighborhood? a friend recommended it.
any restuarants/bars? safety? etc. thanks!
Hello Rick
Zacil Ha is a large area and many area of the city are under interpretation as to where it starts and end so we will speck more about the general area.
There are more small restaurants along 5th between CTM and 50th Street. However most of the places are below 40th Avenue going south.
Most of the larger building and modern buildings are very safe. Since Zacil Ha boarders a more local neighbor hood, there can be friction between richer and poorer areas. This can be some pretty break ins. This happens usualy at smaller buildings that have more easy access across a wall or through windows with access. This is a not a major issue but something to note about places to stay and looking at what a place looks like before renting.
Overall if you do not have a car you will walk more to shop and go places but it can be a quieter end of town to stay in.
I please need the postal address of the post office in Playa del Carmen. I will be very grateful if someone can help me. Thank you, Jaap

Hello Ana
The cheaper rental places will be on the west side of the highway in some of the planned communities. Real Ibiza is a popular one with several phases. There are mini vans to come he center of town. Most of the area around Plaza Las America’s is good because it is central.
We have been planning a trip to Playa del Carmen for months now and have been using your website for everything. Thanks for all the maps that make it easy to know where to go and what to avoid.

You really do have everything on your webiste! It has been very helpful planning out our vacation.
I just wanted to say how helpful your website has been in my search for a new place to live. I am considering moving to Playa Del Carmen this year and have been pouring over your site for all the details. Thanks for all your articles.
Your mapos are very helpful expecially the one on where to stay in Playa. I never know what part of a city is best and if I did not see it I might have ended up in Colosio. It looks near the water but not near anything else.
Can you clarify where taxi Zone 1 ends and Zone 2 begins? The detail on the taxi zone chart is not clear enough to read, and it seems something important should be clearly understood. I ask that because for the last three week we have been going from CTM and 10th to Juarez and 10th and paying 25 pesos. We have had no complaints until today and the taxi driver insisted that the cut off for Zone 1 is 38th and produced a taxi chart. I which I would have had my camera to take a clear picture. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
We only have the one map as well but upon a close examination and comparing it to google maps it does appear to be 38th street. One the map it is a large avenue but not a larger yellow one that looks to be 46th AKA CTM Avenue. It is also looks like 38th from the amount of blocks from Constituyentes Avenue.
Thank you so much for giving good maps! I love all the attention to detail and they are always accurate.
We are Retirees looking to rent long term in PDC. We have been told there is a “residential” area and a “tourist” area. Is this accurate?
We do have a map in this article called “Map of Playa Del Carmen for living here” It shows the areas where people live and what they are like. There are more touristic areas close to 5th Avenue but some people like to live there because it is easy to rent out when you are not there. Some of the areas from 30th Avenue and west are more locals areas. Some neighborhoods are more local and expats don’t tend to live there because the houses and apartments are close together. Driving around will give you a good feel for what might fit you the best. One deciding factor is if you want a car or not.
I am really like your maps that you have made for Playa del Carmen. They are helpful and you cannot find them elsewhere.
I am moviong to Playa del Carmen this year and these maps are very helpful, thanks!
