2. Combine Parks or Tours for Package Deals
Xcaret is part of the Xcaret group, which operates several excellent parks and tours in the Riviera Maya. We have been to all of their parks, most of the tours and to their hotels. We recommend each one of these because Xcaret has a great reputation for creating unique experiences when you visit a park, take tour or stay at one of their hotels. You can save money by purchasing combo tickets for multiple parks, such as Xel-Há, Xplor, or Xenses.
Since most people want to visit one of the parks and often times Tulum ruins or Chichen Itza, these are options you can choose to combine.
Option 1. Make your own package and save 20% off. You can select up to 4 parks and tours.
Option 2. Select two parks to visit on the same day. Most of the parks are large enough and give you a great day of exploration, but there are a few that have late hours and some that are half day experiences like Xenses. This can be a way to make your own package and save off admission. Tip: Make sure you consider the distance between the parks. Since Xcaret is the largest park and open the longest hours so guests can see as much as possible, it might not be good to combine Xcaret with another park in the same day, that is just our preference.
Option 3. In two days selects a park or tour and have two days of fun filled adventure. This is probably the best option for most people. If you are on vacation for a week or so, two days of planned visits to a park and tour are going to cover a lot of interest that people want to see and experience. Xcaret has tours to Coba ruins, Tulum and Chichen Itza, all popular tours to take. So why not save money by buying together!

3. Take Advantage of Seasonal Promotions
Xcaret runs promotions during specific times of the year, such as holidays, summer, or off-peak seasons. These deals are often advertised on their website or social media platforms. Check for discounts around Black Friday, Cyber Monday, or other holidays. We have one article here about Xcaret Park discounts. Some of these sales offer free transportation, $5-10 USD off entrances to selected parks or similar promotion. Often you can purchase the sale price, and you have up to one year to visit the park or take the tour.
4. Use Credit Card Discounts
On the official website of Xcaret you can find special admission prices for certain credit cards. Currently there are specials for HSBC credit cards. Here are two special admission promotions you can take advantage of.
- Use your HSBC credit card (and the special promo code) to purchase and admission to Xcaret Park. You then get a second day at Xcaret Park included for free! The Second day is the basic admission. This can be a great option because there is so much to see and do in Xcaret, you really need more than one day to see it all.
- Purchase admission to Xcaret and Xplor Park with your HSBC credit card (plus promo code) and get a free entrance to Xoximilco Park! This is a good 3×2 promotion. it does mean three days of activities, so you have to have enough time to go to all of them.
5. Choose the Right Admission Package
Xcaret Park offers several ticket options, from Basic Admission to the Xcaret Plus Package, which includes a buffet meal, locker rental, and snorkel gear. If you plan to eat at the park and use the additional amenities, the Plus package can offer better overall value.

6. Avoid Third-Party Markups
While some travel websites and agencies offer Xcaret tickets, the best deals are typically found directly on the official Xcaret website. Be cautious of unauthorized vendors or overly discounted tickets, as they might not be legitimate. We do not recommend buying tickets on the street from booths. You will see many along 5th Avenue in Playa Del Carmen of these ticket sellers. Many are legitimate but some are false. Some will try to trick you by offering discounts, but thy only sell you tickets to lower quality parks that are not owned by Xcaret. Some will also offer a lower price, but they include transportation from third party providers that can be questionable. Bottom line is, it is best to buy directly with Xcaret on their website.
7. Save on Transportation to Xcaret Park
Xcaret offers just admission tickets, or you can combine it with transportation from Xcaret. This can be very convenient since it is one stop shopping and everything is organized for your day. Since the transportation add on is about $30 USD per person, this is a bit expensive, especially if you are close by the park. We really only recommend buying the transportation if you are staying further away like Puerto Morelos, Cancun, near Tulum.
There are some fairly easy options for transportation to the park that are more public options.
- Taking a taxi from Playa Del Carmen. If you leave from a Taxi stand near 5th Avenue, there should be a posted price guide. For 1-4 people it is 190 pesos. For 5-8 people it is 380 pesos. It should be noted that taxis are notorious for not respecting the posted prices. You will usually get the better price paying in pesos.
- Colectivo. These are minivans that go up and down the highway stopping wherever people need to go. The colectivos are on the south end of Playa. They leave when full, which is about every 10 minutes. The colectivos leave you on the side of the highway where Xplor Park is. There is signed underpass where you will walk under the road and find a bus stop by Xcaret. From here you take the free bus to the park. At night it returns to the stop, and you walk to the highway to get a colectivo back to Playa. It might take a little longer to get one that has space, but this is the cheapest option. It costs less than $2 USD per person.
- ADO bus. There are three buses in the morning that go from Playa Del Carmen to Xcaret directly. They buses leave from the ADO Bus Station on 5th Avenue and Juarez Avenue. It costs about $7 USD each way. At night there are timed buses back to Playa as well. We recommend buying your tickets at least a day or more in advance because you need make sure you have a spot. You can check the current schedules and prices here on the ADO website.
- Rent a car. If you are only going to Xcaret Park, we don’t recommend this because your car will be sitting all day while you have fun in the park. If you have a rental car for other trips, it is very easy to drive to the park and parking is free.
Finding your own transportation to Xcaret can be significantly cheaper (depending on how many in your group and the distance your hotel is from Xcaret Park) and allows you to allocate more of your budget to park activities.

8. Bring Your Own Essentials
While Xcaret offers many conveniences, bringing items like water shoes, sunscreen (biodegradable only), and reusable water bottles can save money on purchases inside the park. Most things in the gift shops of Xcaret are decent quality, however they can be more expensive than buying things you need before visiting Xcaret. For example, you might want water shoes for walking around and swimming. These are about half the price at supermarkets in Playa Del Carmen (i.e. Walmart) compared to Xcaret Park.
Conclusion
By planning ahead and utilizing the tips above, you can enjoy everything Xcaret has to offer without overspending. From its underground rivers to cultural performances and wildlife encounters, the park delivers a memorable experience worth every peso when approached smartly. Happy travels!
