In this article, we invite you to explore the Cancun Ferris Wheel, where sky-high adventures meet the unparalleled beauty of one of Mexico’s most iconic beach destinations.
What your ride will be like on the Ferris wheel
We like going everywhere so we can tell you exactly what it is like. Here is a brief video and some description of what a ride is like.
The photo below is the area you will arrive at. Here you can buy your tickets if you have not already and wait to board the Sky Wheel.
La Gran Rueda has 35 gondolas with capacity for up to 7 people each, equipped with air conditioning and a VIP gondola with a glass floor for up to 5 people. usually, it is just you and your group in a gondola. The ride is very smooth! We were thinking that it could be a bit jerky as some rides are, but this is entirely smooth.
The views are great! You get to look over the lagoon toward the downtown and over the Hotel Zone to the Caribbean.
How much does the Cancun Ferris Wheel cost?
Adult tickets are $14 USD and $11.50 USD for children. If you want to do other activities in the mall, there are 6 attractions like Ripley’s Believe It Or Not and the Sky Wheel and you can buy a combo ticket for all the attractions for $29.99 USD. We suggest just doing the things you like or just the Sky Wheel because that is the most interesting thing to see. The combo ticket probably includes things you are not interested in.
What hours are the panoramic wheel open?
The ride is open daily from 1:00pm-10:00pm. Peak times are in the evening from about 6:00pm-9:00pm.
What is the best time to go on the Ferris wheel?
We actually like it during the day. We know that most people want to be at the beach tanning at this time, but this is a great way to beat the crowds. It is also beautiful to see the views in the day when the water is the bluest and you can see everything. Although night photos are cool from the La Gran Rueda and so is shopping in the evening. It will depend on what photos you want and what else you will be doing that day.
Where is the Cancun Ferris Wheel and how to get there
The Cancun Sky Wheel is located in Cancun’s Hotel Zone located at KM 12.5 Everything in the Hotel Zone is on one road and marked by km markers. This mall is on the north end of the Hotel Zone near many hotels. It is easy to see when you are close by and easy to get the public bus to if you take public transportation. If you drive here, there is paid parking at the mall, just enter on the north side of the mall because there are two sides with different parking.
