  1. Love, love, love your site. We visit PDC as often as possible and I have clearly got some new places to try. I have printed this list for future reference.

I noticed Oh Lala, Plank and Imprevist did not make your list. (We just returned and had great higher end meals at Oh Lala and Plank.) If you have not tried them Oh Lala is NOT TO BE MISSED. It is a very special place.

    • Hello and thanks for checking out our list. We do have Plank on for brunch and also for fine dinning for dinner. I know we have so many restaurants, it is hard to categorize them. We have tried to contact Improvist but they never got back to us. Oh La La is on our list as well, last time we went by they were booked for a while and when we had a chance to go, they were full. We have a long list of places to try and add, so we promise to keep adding more and the ones you mentioned as well. Thanks.

  2. I think this is the best list of restaurants in Playa Del Carmen. This attest to all the work you do and things you do for the community. Thanks

  3. Hello again! I love to see your guides because you don’t have all the tourist traps that are restaurants in Playa del Carmen. I love the small independent ones and the fact that you eat at each one. This give me confidence that you know what you are talking about. Keep up the good work.

    • Thank you Casey! We wrote to someone there before they opened but we never heard back from them. We have been passing by this restaurant often and notice that there is usually just one table. We predict this restaurant will not make it. With the expense of being on 5th Avenue you really need to bring your A game and have a good marketing strategy. When we don’t hear from restaurants, it usually tells us that they don’t have a great plan for getting out the word.

  4. Ⅰthank you for this comprehensive list of restaurants. It seems to change all the time in Playa del Carmen and we are always looking to see what is new and what has closed. We love your website and use it all the time. Keep up the good work.

    • We see it is re-opened. Is this your restaurant? We had taken it off our list because it was closed. We like to keep all our guides up-to-date.

  5. I am quite surprised you didn’t mention The Pitted Daye in your article. I have tried all the vegan restaurants in your article and in my opinion The Pitted Dated is by far better!! Amazing vegan dishes that are presented as a gourmet meal and ousting customer service. And no words to describe the smoothies that would not do them justice. Check them out you won’t be disappointed.

    • You will be happy to note that we have to go to their new location and we are looking foreward to writing more about them. When we initially went they only were a bakery.

  6. Your restaurant guide has guided us during our trip and we found some great restaurants in Playa del Carmen thanks to you! Well done!

    • Hello Cameron

Thanks for using the website. We love helping people find things and recommending good businesses.

  7. I love the suggestions you have for restaurants. We’re always looking for a new place to go. I think you should check out La Parrilla Mexican Grill, on the corner of 5th Ave and Constituyentes. It has been our favorite place to go on our last night of our vacation for the past 4 years. from the 5th ave Shrimp or Filet Mignon, being prepared table side, to the Mariachi band, that comes in to play, to seeing the lights of 5th Ave at night it is an amazing night We’ve never been disappointed with the food or the atmosphere.
