Park La Ceiba

Park La Ceiba is a natural feeling park that provides a place for children to play and learn. It is a preserved section of what Playa looked like with no development and is a respite from all the concrete and sun.

Where is Park La Ceiba

Located on the other side of the highway at 60th Avenue south and Calle 1 south (two blocks south of Juarez Avenue). The main entrance is located on Calle 1 Sur and Avenida 60 Sur.

Street parking is normally available around the square of the park.

This park is a nice addition to Playa. There are classes for children to learn about recycling and the environment. For the adults, there is a nice café in the park. Be sure to check out the nice bathrooms as well, they have a cool design.

The park has some corporate sponsors that help support it and the park also sells plants and the money goes for supporting the park. Check for special events like movies in the park, yoga and other events with everyone’s help this park can keep going and show there is a conscience need for the environmental protection of nature in and around Playa Del Carmen.

  1. We just moved to Playa Del Carmen and live near this park. We love taking our kids here and it is a nice hidden treasure since there are not a lot of parks in Playa. We also saw on your site the one in Playacar. We will be checking that out soon.

  2. This is our 4th winter in Playa with our little ones (2.5 and 5) and the first time that we have been to this park. It is clean and well maintained. The bathrooms are super cute and clean. We had a great cup of coffee and the most delicious piece of carrot cake. We went to check out the Saturday market and were there early. There were many vendors with a great selection of things. The playground is nice, but like most others in Mexico, could do with some maintenance. We also found a cute little used book store across the road from the main entrance that has lots of English books as well as many in other languages (This may be useful to post for people as we have struggled over the years to find English books to read and even ended up in Puerto Morelos for them as we heard this was one of the few places)
This was a great find for us (park and book store) and we will be back. Thanks
