Vegetarian Hamburgers in Playa Del Carmen

For you veggie lovers you will be pleased to know there are several places to choose from for a burger. Here they are:

La Senda Restaurant

They have nicely presented food here and a well thought out menu. Below is their version of a lentil burger with a side of rosemary sweet potato mash. Le Senda is on 10th Avenue between 10th Street and 12th street. It is an open air restaurant with casual vibe.

Bio Organicos Restaurant

This lentil hamburger is on the menu at Bio Organicos. The burger comes with homemade oat bread and a mango sauce to put on your burger. It is very fresh tasting and a little spice in the mango sauce to wake up your taste buds. It is really yummy, and you must try it. Seafood Burgers in Playa Del Carmen

Los Hijos de la Tostada They have one burger on their menu here and that might just be all you need! It is a tuna burger with a chipotle sauce, fried onion rings and caramelized red onions. The burger is not overly greesy and they give you a good hunk of tuna on it. It is technically not ground up meat but they do call it a burger and we are not going to complain because it is delicious! It comes with fried that have parmesan cheese on them. This burger is 149 pesos.

3XL Comida Grande

The restaurant is solely dedicated to burgers, and they are doing a very good job with it. This place is very clean and well operated. You have the choice of beef, chicken, pork or vegetarian burgers here and after they cook it you can top it off at their large toppings bar. This restaurant is on 8th Street between 25th Avenue and 30th Avenue (in front of Walmart).

The Jumbo Grill

This is a local favorite for a roadside grilled burger that is not a store bought patty. They have chicken and sirloin burgers here in two sizes. Nice grilled taste. This is pretty close to what your burgers would be like off the grill at home. It is across from Centro Maya Mall.

  1. Just tried 3XL Burger (opened 1 week ago); across from Wal-Mart, next to OXXO. Wow, Hamburger, Pork, or Chicken, with tons of fixins and sauces. To top it off they have sweet potato fries (and regular).

  2. Wow so many hamburger options in Playa Del Carmen! You guys really get around. I live here and never knew about half these places. I will go try Ruta 307 this week, it looks great! Thanks for the great guide.

  3. Being a tourist & going to the beach every day,I like to enjoy my burgers on the beach & I really enjoy them at Playa Maya on the beach.Down 8th calle

    • Thanks for letting us know about your favorite burgers in Playa Del Carmen. We have heard about Playa Maya but they have not gotten back to our repeated emails and other attempts to contact them. We would like to add them to our Beachfront Restaurants Guide as well. Maybe they will want to be on our website one day.

  4. I usually love all of your recommendations but I’m sorry to say that Tacotenedor was a huge disappointment. I ordered the tuna burger and was really excited that it was to come with sweet potato fries. Well it actually came with about 6 under cooked regular potato fries…strike one. The tuna burger looked pretty sad from the start, about the thickness of a McDonalds cheeseburger. A thin, overly fishy tasting “tuna steak?” a single slice of tomato and a but of runny mayo…strike two. To top it off it took about 20 minutes to make this pretty horrible meal even though there were only 4 other people in the whole place and the cost of 120 pesos was extreme for what you got…strike three.

Sorry guys but Tacotenedor has either gone very down hill since you last tried them or I caught them on an exceptionally bad night. Don;t think I’m willing to give them a second chance.

    • Thank you Sarah for your comments. We think that Tacontenedor must have gone downhill since we last were there. One if the issues in Playa Del Carmen is staff turnover. If the owners are not around a lot and there is staff that is not good, things can go downhill fast. We actually talked with the owner a few weeks ago because we see so much potential in this small little restaurant just off 5th Avenue. Places like Los Hijas De los Tostadas are taking over the seafood chic market and making it fun to eat there. We will pass your comments directly to the owner because we know he will take it seriously. We like to help businesses be the best possible and we want to support the good ones. For now we will take Tacontendor off this list. Thank you again.
